Ernie Tarner Memorial Golf Tournament

Thank you for your continued interest in sponsoring and participating in our annual Golf Tournament. On behalf of the Franklin County Conservation District, the Golf Tournament Committee is proud to announce the newly renamed Ernie Tarner Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on June 3, 2022 at Whitetail Golf Resort in Mercersburg, PA with an 8:00 AM shotgun start. The tournament will be a 4-person scramble and will feature many hole challenges including closest to the pin, longest drive, and door prizes. Cash awards will begiven to the top 3 teams in 2 separate flights.

We are looking for organizations to sponsor holes at our Annual Golf Tournament. This is a great opportunity to have your company or business recognized by local golfers and other companies with business in and around Franklin County as well as helping Franklin County college students pursue an education in the environmental field. Without your generous donations and sponsorships from businesses such as yours, this tournament opportunity would not be possible. We have three different sponsorship levels as well as prize donation opportunities.

New for 2022, all proceeds from the golf tournament will go towards the Ernie Tarner Scholarship Fund. The District would like to extend Ernie’s legacy for his long-time stewardship and protection of Franklin County’s natural resources. Ernie served as FCCD’s manager from 1982-2012. This scholarship fund is exclusively for students residing in Franklin County, PA and majoring in an environmental field of study. To date we have provided 59 scholarships to majors in fields such as: Ag Business & Law, Agricultural and Extension Education, Animal Science, Geo-Environmental Studies, Environmental/Marine Biology, Turf Grass Management, Energy Resource Management, Forestry, and Veterinary related fields.
