The Franklin County Conservation District has established an Environmental College Scholarship Program to support agricultural and environmental education for students residing in Franklin County. Profits from the annual golf tournaments have enabled the Conservation District to periodically offer these scholarships.  To date, we have issued over 61 scholarships to students in Franklin County!

On November 8, 2021, the Franklin County Conservation District Board of Directors voted to rename our annual scholarship fund as the “Ernie Tarner Memorial Scholarship Fund.”

Ernie served as the Franklin County Conservation District Manager for 30 years. Known as a people person, Ernie loved assisting constituents in solving stormwater and erosion problems. His promotion of conservation helped make Franklin County a better place to live.

We are pleased to memorialize these events and to continue Ernie’s legacy in this way for years to come.

PLEASE NOTE: Information for the 2022 scholarships will be available in the spring. Please check back then.

We congratulate our 2021 Scholarship Recipients:
